Parents and children from the community gathered at Thanksgiving Point on February 28th for a one-of-a-kind educational event, Karing for Kids, sponsored by Accredo / Hemophilia Health Services. The turnout was excellent and everyone truly enjoyed themselves. The children got to visit the dinosaur museum while the parents learned important skills unique to raising young kids with bleeding disorders. When the children returned, they got to learn the ins and outs of bleeding disorders through songs, rotations at stations with educational games and activities, and even making slime to learn how blood clots! Then everyone got to visit as we enjoyed a delicious catered lunch. Special thanks goes to Accredo / Hemophilia Health Services for coordinating a fantastic event and for their wonderful speaker, Diane Horbacz. We also thank the volunteers who helped to chaperone the children at the museum and assist with the educational games and activities.
