A Truly Fantastic BloodRun!

The BloodRun is one of my favorite events! Maybe it's because I love running and I get excited when I see others get excited about running—there's nothing better than running for a good cause! My goals for the BloodRun have been to provide an opportunity for individuals to get excited about being physically active and to provide a unique way to support the UHF. We had a wonderful event this year with about 300 registered participants. They were able to receive a great t-shirt and wonderful goodie bag. More than half won one of many cool raffle prizes—and that was just the icing on the cake!
There is a lot of work that goes into putting this run together, and this year we had a great committee (thank you to my husband Dave Anderson, Steve Petty, Kristy Fowler, Roberta Smith, Shannon Graves, and Katie Purdie). However, my favorite part of planning and putting together this race is seeing everything come together on race day. I love to see the finished t-shirts, the goodie bags printed and stuffed, all the raffle prizes lined up and filling the tables, the trophies waiting to be awarded, the music playing, and people gathering and getting ready to run. I love it!! Thank you to all those that came out and supported this event!
