JNC Wrap-Up

Picture
On Saturday, August 15th, more than 30 kids with bleeding disorders met at the Eaglewood Golf Course to participate in CSL Behring’s “Gettin’ in the Game” Junior National Championship. At this event kids with bleeding disorders and their families participated in golf and baseball events and received inspiration and game pointers from professional athletes Perry Parker and Jesse Schrader.

Morning clinics began with the kids immediately “Gettin’ in the Game” by being able to warm-up with sessions to develop their skills in either sport. After lunch, kids set off to begin their golf and baseball games. Each golfer was paired with a “mentor” chaperone who kept score and gave them pointers along the way. Kids involved in the baseball game were bused to SpringMobile Ballpark where they were able to play a baseball game (Kids vs. Adults) on the field where the Salt Lake Bees play.

At the end of the day each child that participated was awarded a certificate and a medal for their hard work. Additionally, awards were given to first, second and third place in each category. Congratulations to Hayden Morgan who was the golf regional champion and Carter Anderson who was the baseball regional champ. Other Utah winners included Bryson Ecker and China Harbaugh in golf.

Our thanks go to CSL Behring for selecting Utah to host this wonderful event! A great time was had by all.
