Secret Agent Training Camp
Code Name: Camp Valor 2009

All secret agents, time to return and report. Now that our secret agent camp is over, we can disclose the details of our training. The secret agents arrived on a hot Tuesday morning. As they checked in, they were given disguises, and then were introduced to their secret agent advisors (code name “counselors”) and the rest of their team and were taken to their bunks. Once they got settled in, they were able to go to secret device training (code name “arts & crafts”) and make a book safe. Then the adventures began!!! Lucky 13th?

Who says the 13th is unlucky?!—as the 13th annual Fore-A-Cure event was again an enormous success. This year’s event, held September 1st at the Homestead Resort had the usual cast of characters: namely perfect weather, a completely full field, amazing volunteers, a great golf course, lots of silent auction baskets, amazing live auction items—and, most importantly, a wonderful grand total of well over $90,000 dollars raised!! "Voices" from the Past Five Years of My Life

I thought about all the wonderful articles that I have read over the past several months, and how I have been touched by the many stories of the struggles and hardships that many of you, my friends from the “bleeding disorders” community, deal with. A New Name and Factor Distribution Program for the HTC

The Hemophilia Treatment Center (HTC) at Primary Children’s is excited to announce a new name as well as participation in a 340B Factor Distribution Program. The Hemophilia Treatment Center (HTC) will now be known as the Intermountain Hemophilia and Thrombosis Center. This name more accurately reflects the physical location of the HTC as well as the services we provide to the bleeding disorders community. Because we receive a modest federal grant, we are eligible and encouraged by the federal government to participate in the 340B Program (sometimes referred to as the Public Health Service Program). The purpose of a 340B Program is to reduce the high cost of care as well as enhance the quality of care for HTC patients. (read more...)

JNC Wrap-Up

On Saturday, August 15th, more than 30 kids with bleeding disorders met at the Eaglewood Golf Course to participate in CSL Behring’s “Gettin’ in the Game” Junior National Championship. At this event kids with bleeding disorders and their families participated in golf and baseball events and received inspiration and game pointers from professional athletes Perry Parker and Jesse Schrader.
